Community and Family Worker Pledge Sunday

Community and Family Worker Pledge Sunday

We agreed in our Future Plans document to raise funds for a Community and Family Worker.

The Job Description for the worker includes working with Young Life International for two days a week, developing links to families and others in our community and seeking to develop women’s ministry at Kiltarlity Free Church.

For each year this post will cost £30,000. £6,000 has already been committed from Young Life International local funds.

We plan to raise the funding in the following way.

From
Young Life International£6,000
Presbytery£4,000
External Donors & Trusts£12,000
Congregation£8,000
TOTAL£30,000

We have set for the congregation a preliminary target of £8,000. This may sound an enormous sum, but when it is broken down across potential donors it is less daunting. Let us illustrate how even 23 givers could raise this sum.

The challenge to us all is to consider carefully what we can give –choose one of these monthly slots and give according to the amount you can afford. Please use the pledge form attached to let us know what you can give on a monthly basis; obviously, if you would prefer to give a lump sum you are free and encouraged to do so. Please identify yourself because if you pay tax, we can recover 25p in the pound from HMRC.

We will hold our PLEDGE SUNDAY on Sunday 3rd September

Please use the PLEDGE form to pledge monthly or a lump sum (PDF Version). This can be given to Agnes Urquhart (our Treasurer) or emailed to her: treasurer@kiltarlityfreechurch.org.

If you are a taxpayer and wish us to reclaim gift aid and have not already signed a gift aid form Agnes will supply you with one.

Finally, we expect people to give as the Lord enables them. We do not want people to give money that they need for the essentials of living and remember that even if you can only give £1 a month, because this is all you can afford, give it. Our Lord commended the widow who gave two mites – not because it was a large sum, but because it was sacrificial giving on her part.

With every blessing in the service of our Lord,

Stephen Allison
Minister, Kiltarlity Free Church
